Behavioral Health Services at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI, is seeking a full time Psychiatrist for Director of Substance Abuse Services at Lifespan.
The position will be responsible for the:
Development, implementation and operation of substance abuse programs throughout continuum of care at Lifespan affiliated hospitals.
Fiscal integrity of substance abuse programs at Lifespan affiliated hospitals.
Development and implementation of population health based substance abuse services for Lifespan system.
Collaborative interactions with other Lifespan departments in the delivery of substance abuse services including but not limited to the Departments of Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Pediatrics.
Overseeing the training of fellows, residents, and medical students.
Developing a nationally recognized externally funded research program in substance abuse.
30% protected time for scholarly productivity.
The successful candidate must qualify for a full-time medical faculty academic appointment at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor, Research Scholar Track or Teaching Scholar Track in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Must be an MD with successful completion of training in adult psychiatry in an accredited program. Must be board certified or eligible in psychiatry. Candidates should have demonstrated clinical and administrative experience in running a substance abuse service and a track record of externally funded research in substance abuse. National or international reputation and scholarly achievements appropriate for a senior level faculty position will be expected. The candidate should also have a record of teaching and supervision of psychiatry residents and other trainees.
