The Tower Clinical Logistics Coordinator has primary responsibilities to evaluate bed requests from a variety of points of entry including, but not limited to the Emergency Department, Direct Admissions from outside facilities, as well as physicians offices and clinics, OR/PACU, Downgraded patients from ICU to Intermediate Care Units as well as Acute care Units.
In addition, the successful candidate will have a wide range of clinical knowledge and be able to communicate clearly and with a high degree of critical thinking. This role also involves working well together as a team with both peers within the department, as well as Unit Charge RNs, Unit Clinical Directors, Senior Directors, as well as the department Director.
Competencies include Microsoft products, Word and Excel. Must be able to be trained to run EPIC based reports, export and open EPIC reports in Excel, and create graphs, tables, and analyze the information within the context of sound Patient Flow and Capacity Management principles.
Rounding on Nursing Units, being able to assist nursing units in prioritizing unit based transfers and extract and report on Expected Discharges. Must be able to be fluid in hearing and documenting information quickly after orientation and training.
