Clinical Educator –System – Women Services System Educator – Altamonte

The AdventHealth Training Center is located in Altamonte Springs in the Lakeview Plaza. The center provides basic to advanced resuscitation training for staff, affiliates, and community members. Our team of highly trained coordinators and instructors integrate evidenced-based curriculum and hands-on simulation practice in a positive learning environment. The training center offers the following certifications: American Heart Association (AHA) – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support for the Experienced Provider (ACLS EP), Basic Life Support (BLS), Heart Saver (HS) CPR / AED / First Aid, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, & Stabilization (PEARS) ;Emergency Nurse Association (ENA) – Trauma Nursing core Course (TNCC), Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) – Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).

The Clinical Educator – System is responsible for facilitating the development of system clinical education through active participation in orientation, training, on-going staff development and evaluation of clinical practice for all levels of personnel served. Participates in the development of formal and informal education programs and activities to communicate policy revision and organizational goals and improve standards and performance expectations. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel
Effective, professional communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Able to communicate appropriately to all levels of staff, nursing leadership and executive leadership
Self-directed, creative, initiative to develop educational programs
Knowledge and application of leadership principles and management skills
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
Previous teaching experience in formal/informal settings
For job class RE54, at least 1 year in a management role
Master of Science degree in Nursing or Master's degree in related field (e.g., MBA, MHA) (Preferred)
3-5 years experience in education (Preferred)
1-3 years in lead or management role (Preferred)
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse
Certification in specialty (e.g., Staff Development, Med Surg, etc.) (Preferred)
Certification as Nursing Professional Development Educator (e.g., certification by the National Nurse Staff Development Organization) (Preferred)

EDUCATION CREATION: Utilizes principles of education and adult learning to provide opportunities and experiences for professional growth consistent with the Novice to Expert continuum. Utilizes the process of systematic inquiry to develop educational activities. Integrates published research and current literature to develop and implement learning activities. Promotes continuous improvement. Collaborates to implement change.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Responsible for assigned system clinical education/projects including, but not limited to, education for regulatory compliance and system priorities. Organizes, facilitates and oversees quarterly education, including annual competencies for assigned job groups.
CAMPUS LIAISON: Serves as a liaison to all campuses for educational consultation, orientation of new campus educators and conducts campus rounds to oversee system and unit education. Assists campus educators with education initiatives as needed, including delegation of assigning education assistance duties to system educators.
INFORMAL LEADER: Though not a direct report, oversees daily work of assigned administrative assistant. Delegates work as appropriate.
TEAM PLAYER: Assists, as needed, with training and orientation programs skills, American Heart Association provider training and new campus/system educator orientation.
ORIENTATION (as applicable): Responsible for orientation and onboarding of all levels and specialties of staff, including and as applicable Medical Surgical, Progressive Care, Intensive Care and the Emergency Department. Individualizes, plans, implements and evaluates orientation programs in response to healthcare trends, staff learning needs and organizational goals. For job class RE54, responsible for orientation and onboarding of mid-level/informal leaders, including charge nurse, assistant nurse manager, educator, preceptor and mentor.
