Client Service Representative – FHL Client Services – Orlando
Florida Hospital Orlando seeks to hire Client Service Representative who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Florida Hospital Laboratories (FHL) provides hospital-based laboratory services throughout the community for Florida Hospital. The FHL outreach program, provides a needed link in the healthcare continuum, by offering hospital quality laboratory services to patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers. FHL provides clinical support through our sales and marketing staff, a 24/7 Client Services Department, courier transportation services, off-site phlebotomy services, a dedicated laboratory financial services team, and an information systems support staff.
The Client Services Representative performs laboratory support procedures, including clerical, reception and minor administrative services. Works on various clinical laboratory processes and support functions including answering the telephone and providing clinical and operational support to community and hospital customers. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Ability to read text and numbers in English, with the ability to comprehend, measure, reason, match and problem solve.
Ability to learn and apply computer related applications and programs, including using electronic keyboards and other peripheral devices.
Mature judgement and the ability to handle confidential information within Florida Hospital guidelines and applicable regulations.
Ability to handle infectious biological specimens, caustics, toxic chemicals and/or irritants appropriately and safely.
Ability to listen well and communicate verbally and in written form with persons of varied backgrounds in a respectful, effective and professional manner.
Ability to respond appropriately to buzzers, bells, flashing lights, and pagers.
Basic knowledge of healthcare related services including insurances and insurance plans, diagnostic documentation, and protection of health and personal information.
Must pass the PFS Standard Skills test.
Three years customer service related experience.
Three years customer service experience in the medical field. (Preferred)
High School Diploma or GED. (Preferred)
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

Performs assigned customer service activities related to laboratory customer/client support which includes answering the telephone and minor clerical duties.
Performs post-analytical activities related to laboratory testing as needed to support laboratory's needs, such as but not limited to, direct client/customer communication, report retrieval and distribution, account editing, and problem resolution.
Performs various support activities to meet internal and external customer needs and facilitate laboratory operations. Provides specimen collection instructions and information via the phone for nursing units, physician offices, other hospitals, and nursing homes; dispatches phlebotomy or couriers to community clients; faxes/obtains patient or insurance information; serves as call center for core laboratory; directs calls as needed to appropriate person/department; and clarifies orders as needed for Laboratory staff.
Participates in laboratory and hospital Performance Improvement activities, including evaluation of new equipment and/or procedures or methods.
Provides resolution to customer service issues within guidelines, and supports education to hospital and community-based customers.
Adheres strictly to Florida Hospital Compliance Plan and the rules and regulations of applicable regulatory authorities; protects confidentiality of patient information and results at all times.
Provides and acts on technical and support information related to the elements of laboratory testing for all age groups, from neo-nates through geriatric patients.
Utilizes PPE, and follows safety policies, including handwashing. Adheres to Chemical Hygiene plan.
Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department or area.
