Biostatistician – Research Analytics and Academic Institute – Orlando
AdventHealth Orlando seeks to hire a Biostatistician who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.
Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,107-bed AdventHealth Orlando, serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year.
Monday through Friday; 8a – 5p
Works with the investigators and faculty biostatistician to provide core support in translational / personalized medicine including data identification through advanced statistical techniques. Assists in the development of scientifically sound statistical plans for clinical and other study designs and contributes to study design section of protocols. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Well-versed in statistical software for analysis of clinical & translational datasets (particularly, SAS), using biostatistical methods.
Data management and data cleaning experience
Good analytical skills with the ability to precisely process scientific and medical data.
Knowledge of experimental design for clinical trials.
Able to identify data issues and implement solutions.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Presentation skills (i.e., capability to understand faculty needs and to communicate technical concepts clearly, concisely, and understandably to non-statistical colleagues).
Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage workflow
Experience with Microsoft Office suite for report generation and presentation of data.
Master's Degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epigenomics, or related discipline
2 years' experience analyzing life science and or clinical data
Familiar with design and analysis of clinical trials, epidemiological and biomarker studies. (Preferred)
Familiar with clinical trial activities and basic knowledge of regulatory guidelines. (Preferred)

Assist in the development of scientifically sound statistical plans for clinical and other study designs and contributes to study design section of protocols.
Work with the investigators and faculty biostatistician to provide core support in translational / personalized medicine including identification through advanced statistical techniques as outlined above.
Assist in the development of statistical tools to design and power translational medicine and transcriptome, epigenome and proteomic biomarker discovery efforts.
Interact proactively with internal and external functional groups and provide consultation to project teams on statistical issues.
Interact proactively with external collaborators/partners on project-related statistical issues.
Perform appropriate statistical modeling and/or analysis of project data (using SAS & GraphPad Prism), interpreting statistical results, preparing integrated summaries, collaborating, and writing statistical /data analysis plans for study reports and manuscripts.
Perform post-hoc and/or relevant exploratory analyses of data for conference presentations and/or manuscript submissions.
