Patients have convenient access to the latest in medical and radiation oncology, patient support and education programs, and a dedicated team of highly-qualified physicians and certified oncology nurses. The Radiation Oncology practice at AdventHealth Orlando offers patients a comprehensive array of radiation therapy treatments for pediatric and adult cancers using two Varian linear accelerators, Gamma Knife and HDR.

The Radiation Oncology Manager oversees the clinical, clerical, and financial, operations of a AdventHealth Radiation Oncology Center. Manages internal operations; implements policies, procedures, and practices; ensures staff conformance to procedures and efficient functioning of the center. Responsible for the center's patient volumes, marketing, regulatory compliance, facility maintenance, and equipment. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Five years' experience as a licensed Radiation Therapist
Three years' experience in leading, supervising or managing operations of a radiation oncology center
Knowledge of operations for a hospital based Radiation Oncology Center; including clinical, clerical, and financial functions
Knowledge of marketing for a freestanding radiation oncology center
Effective public speaking skills with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of staff within the department, physicians, hospital administration, and patients
Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve campus as well as institutional goals
Computer proficiency, particularly in Aria; Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; and internet searches
Project planning management skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in business or healthcare administration, or in other relevant business or health-care discipline (Preferred)
Experience working in a matrixed management environment for a large, multi-site hospital system (Preferred)
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
Current, valid State of Florida Radiation Therapy license
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Provides regular, standardized volume and referral reports, as well as volume strategy updates to campus and Florida Hospital Cancer Institute (FHCI) leadership. Develops strategies to expand the Center's referral base and retain existing business. Works with campus and FHCI marketing teams to promote the Center.
Responsible for the efficient use of the Center's operating budget. Manages daily expenses, ensures timely and accurate billing and collections, and provides monthly budget report to campus and FHCI. Develops annual operating and capital budget for the Center, in conjunction with the campus and FHCI, and implements corrective action plans, in conjunction with the campus and FHCI, to correct budget variances, as needed.
Develops appropriate relationships with the Center's referring physicians and their office staff.
Monitors patient satisfaction with the Center. Develops and implements strategies to improve patient satisfaction, customer service (to patients and physicians), and addresses any patient/physician complaints or safety issues in a timely manner.
Coordinates equipment and facilities maintenance. Ensures equipment is maintained; according, to required service schedules, and addresses any facility or equipment issues in a timely manner. Coordinates implementation of new technology and facilities.
Works with FHCI Chief Therapeutic Medical Physicist/Clinical Services Officer on implementation of new treatment techniques and methods, and new equipment.
Direct oversight of all Center staff, except physicists and dosimetrists. Responsible for working with FHCI Chief Therapeutic Medical Physicist/Clinical Services Officer to ensure adequate physics and dosimetry support for the Center. Manages all human resources issues related to Center staff under his/her direct supervision, including hiring, firing, conducting employee evaluations, etc. Coaches staff and coordinates training, as needed. May provide coverage at other sites as needed.
Monitors staff satisfaction and engagement scores, develops and implements plans to increase scores, as required, and ensures staff awareness and engagement in campus and FHCI initiatives. Keeps local staff, site physicians, campus, and FHCI informed of pertinent information relating to the Center.
Ensures regulatory readiness by monitoring results of tracers and corrective action plans. Updates campus and FHCI regularly on process of corrective action plans.
Actively participates in campus leadership meetings and FHCI leadership meetings when requested.
