With the recent addition of the Rehabilitation Institute, the hospital features 184 licensed acute care beds as well as inpatient and outpatient surgery, cardiac services featuring a STEMI Receiving Center (heart attack) and a 35-bed 24-hour emergency department. The Center for Wound Care provides treatment for people with chronic non-healing wounds. This comprehensive wound-healing service includes hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Palmdale Regional Medical Center is active in the community and regularly participates with the Antelope Valley Board of Trade, Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance, Chambers of Commerce and other civic and governmental groups. Essential Job Duties: EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT - Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the EMT assists with the flow of patients through the ED areas to include Triage, ATU, ED, and Waiting Areas. Functions as a member of the health team in the role of a hospital based EMT who has a positive demeanor at all times and emulates service excellence. The EMT is skilled with basic assessments skills, obtaining Vital Signs, 12-Lead EKG and RN, MD/PA/NP with setting up for procedures under their direction and observation. Knowledge of medical terminology & computer skills and able to assist with placing physician orders in the computer and documenting manual and computer documentation. Is a strong member of the ED Team and is self directed to improve customer satisfaction in the ED. Is a self-motivating individual, and maintains a courteous and professional attitude.
