Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition Manager and Director of Nutritional Services, the clinical dietitian is responsible for providing daily in-patient nutritional care through screening/assessment of patients and nutrition consultation as well as carrying out nutrition education for in and out- patients of this community. Other duties may include but are not limited to policy and procedure development; in-service/competency education development for staff; daily supervision of diet office staff and functions; support department performance improvement plan; attending routine meetings and or interdisciplinary rounds, as requested by supervisor.
Provides nutrition consultationand nutrition screening/assessment/reassessmentanddocument in patientschartaccording to established policiesandproceduresandestablishedpracticeguidelines in a timelyandcomprehensive manner. Assessmentandplanofcareare consistentlyappropriateforageandculturallyrelevant,andreflectsconsiderationof patient's desirefortreatment.
Completes nutrition educationfor in andoutpatientsaccording to the establishedpolicies/proceduresandactivelyparticipates in community educationaccording to the needsof the communityasneeded.
Developsandprovidesin-serviceeducationfor nutrition servicestaffonvariousclinicaltopicsrelative to patientnutritionalcare(at both campuses)on a monthlybasis.
Workseffectivelyas a memberofpatientcareteamthrougheffectivecommunicationandmaintenanceofoptimalworkingrelationship with medical/nursingstaffandotherdisciplinesasappropriate.
