Associate Professor/Professor School of Medicine-RC - United States-Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (18001393) The Department of Critical Care Medicine, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is seeking applicants to serve as Vice Chair for Education and occupy the prestigious Grenvik Chair for Critical Care education. The Department of Critical Care Medicine includes 85 faculty members in three divisions (adult, pediatric and hospitalist) and is an international leader in the field in clinical care as well as basic, clinical and translational research. Over 45 critical care medicine fellows train annually in the program across the disciplines of surgery, anesthesiology, medicine, emergency medicine, and pediatrics and it has dedicated many of the world's leaders in critical care. The individual will be responsible for directing all critical care medicine education in the department along with providing oversight of the department's role in medical school education. Applicants should have an established record of excellence in critical care education and experience with the use of contemporary tools in the discipline such as simulation and ultrasound. The applicant should have a vision for curriculum development, faculty education (adult, pediatric, hospitalist), life-long learning, and contemporary applications of cognitive and technical advances in education including bedside information management. Candidates should be board certified in critical care medicine, or demonstrate equivalent credentials, and is suitable for a tenured faculty position at or above the level of Associate Professor.
