UMass Memorial Medical Center, in Worcester, MA is seeking an ABR certified / eligible Radiologist to join an existing group of eight Emergency Radiologists. UMass Memorial covers well over one million lives and is a Level 1 Trauma Center with 95,000 ED visits/year. Fellowship training in Emergency Radiology is desired, but not required.
The Radiologist will staff the 10pm to 7am shifts Monday through Sunday, with a schedule ranging from one week on every 4 weeks to one week on every 2 weeks. The frequency of work can be set to meet the candidates individual needs. Salary and benefits are highly competitive and can be scaled to the number of weeks worked.
Training in interpreting the following modalities is required:
Abdominal/pelvic/small parts ultrasound
Body MRI (limited)
Neuro CT (head and spine)
Neuro MRI (related to stroke, trauma)
Basic nuclear medicine
ED Radiologists work on site at the University campus with one resident and one Emergency Radiology fellow, and remotely cover the Memorial Campus, as well as several community hospitals from within our network. All hospitals are on the same PACS system. Additional opportunities for internal moonlighting within the department during the two off weeks are available if desired.
As the clinical partner of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Radiology faculty have academic appointments at UMass Medical School, with ample opportunity for clinical and/or basic science research. The Radiology department enjoys close clinical and academic collaborations with Emergency Medicine, Trauma Surgery and numerous other departments.
The UMass Radiology Department has state-of-the art imaging equipment, an AGFA PACS system, EPIC EMR, Tera-Recon image processing software and Powerscribe 360. The department is comprised of approximately 60 fellowship trained Radiologist organized into specialized divisions, trains 20 residents (5 per year) and 9 fellows. The department also includes approximately 15 PhDs and is supported by more than $6M/year in research funding.
