The Department of Pharmacy at Norton Children’s Hospital is currently recruiting for two Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacists to join our dynamic, interdisciplinary staff. Norton Children’s Hospital, a part of Norton Healthcare, is Kentucky’s only full-service, free-standing pediatric care facility dedicated exclusively to caring for children. Featuring one of the busiest emergency departments in the state, with more than 60,000 patient visits annually, this 265-bed hospital serves as the primary pediatric teaching facility for the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Norton Children's Hospital offers a Level I Trauma Center, one of the largest Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Units in the U.S., the only Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant Unit, the largest Children’s Oncology Group center in Kentucky, an Advanced Congenital Heart Program, and is recognized as an ECMO Center of Excellence. The Clinical Pharmacist’s role is to provide safe and compassionate pharmacy care to our patients by efficiently and accurately supplying medications and drug expertise in a collaborative environment. The clinical pharmacists will have the opportunity to work within our emergency department with our emergency medicine and trauma response teams. They will work collaboratively with pharmacists, physicians and other members of the healthcare team to deliver safe, efficient, and cost effective medication management; respond to all trauma and code events within the emergency department; facilitate accurate and efficient transitions of care through medication reconciliation, provide verbal and written consultations concerning medication therapy, participate in the educational experience of pharmacy residents, students, and other members of the healthcare team; and represent the department on applicable hospital committees.
Minimum of two years residency training; specializing in either pediatrics or emergency medicine. US Citizen. Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
