The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist - Emergency Medicine is responsible for providing comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to patients in Emergency Room environment. The clinical pharmacy specialist will work in collaboration with and provide clinical support to physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other staff. The position offers may opportunities for clinical growth and development. Some pertinent responsibilities include: working with pharmacy leadership and emergency medicine providers to monitor drug utilization, adverse drug reactions, and patient and provider safety; precepting pharmacy students and PGY-1 residents; providing didactic lectures to second year medical students as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor; participating in hospital and departmental committees and initiatives related to emergency medicine and toxicology; participating in quality improvement and resource management initiatives; educating pharmacy, nursing, and medical staff about the management, prescribing, and monitoring for various therapies; and maintaining clinical knowledge and skills necessary to be an effective clinical pharmacy practitioner.

The facility is an accredited stroke center as well as chest pain center and features the most advanced imaging capabilities and EHR technologies.
PharmD or equivalent experience
Eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania
PGY-1 Residency training with experience in Emergency Medicine required. PGY-2 Residency in Emergency Medicine preferred.
