Mercy Hospital of Buffalo is part of Catholic Health. Catholic Health is a non-profit healthcare system that provides care across a network of hospitals, primary care centers, imaging centers, several other community ministries, spanning from South Buffalo to Lewiston. Mercy Hospital is one of the largest hospitals in Western New York. It is a 360-bed community teaching hospital that includes the region’s busiest emergency room, caring for over 75,000 patients annually. In addition, the hospital specializes in minimally invasive cardiac procedures, open heart surgery, and cardiac catheterizations. It also has a labor and delivery unit, a designated stroke center, and multiple critical care units.
The program is a one year post-graduate residency program that provides an in-depth experience in broad areas of pharmacy including an inpatient setting at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, as well as an ambulatory care setting at Hospital-affiliated community clinics. This residency provides extensive training in internal medicine, emergency medicine, medication therapy management, practice management, critical care, and ambulatory care with a strong emphasis on clinical pharmacy practice in a multidisciplinary environment.
