The Pharmacy Residency program at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital has been in existence for over 25 years. At PAH, we trains residents to provide evidence-based, patient-centered medication therapy management for a diverse patient population.
As a Piedmont pharmacy resident, you will:
• Exercise leadership and practice management skills;
• Demonstrate project management capabilities;
• Provide medication and practice-related education and training to patients, hospital staff and students;
• Develop teaching skills by participating in precepting of pharmacy students
After orientation, residents will have learning experiences in:
Pharmacokinetics and General Infectious Disease
Clinical Consult Service
Solid Organ Transplant
Drug Policy and Medication Management
The resident must be a graduate of an ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program
The applicant must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia
The applicant must participate in the ASHP matching program
Application & Selection
Residency candidates are required to apply through PhORCAS
Residency candidates will be required to submit a letter of intent, curriculum vitae, pharmacy school transcripts, and 3 letters of recommendation
A minimum of two of the reference letters MUST be from individuals able to speak to clinical problem-solving in direct patient care experiences (not classroom)
References MUST comment on the following characteristics:
Ability to organize and manage time
Ability to work with peers and communicate
Clinical problem solving skills
Independence and resourcefulness
Willingness to accept constructive criticism
