This PGY2 Ambulatory Residency provides clinical practice experience in a variety of ambulatory practices at VCU Health. The resident provides didactic instruction (e.g., lectures, team-based learning sessions, case conferences) and experiential training (e.g., APPEs) to Doctor of Pharmacy students from the VCU School of Pharmacy. Required experiences (longitudinal) include Anticoagulation Clinic, Complex Care Clinic, Patient Centered Medical Home Clinic, Transitional Clinic and Outpatient Staffing/Operations. Elective experiences may be selected from Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic, Cardiology Clinic, Emergency Medicine, Geriatric Inpatient Consults/Transitions of Care, HIV/Infectious Diseases Clinic, Nephrology Clinic, Oncology Clinic, Pain/Palliative Clinic, Psychiatry (Adult/Adolescent) and Solid Organ Transplant Clinic. The program provides experiences in clinical research through a project and participation in ongoing quality improvement activities.
Applicants must be Doctor of Pharmacy graduates from an ACPE-accredited school or college of pharmacy and have completed an accredited PGY1 Residency.
