Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) serves more than 13 counties and 800,000 people in Northeast Georgia. At the hub of NGHS is Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC), made up of 3 acute care facilities. The largest campus is located in Gainesville, GA and has approximately 500 beds. The Gainesville campus is a Level II trauma center, primary stroke center and award-winning cardiac center with STEMI, Heart Failure, LVAD and Open Heart Surgery Programs. NGMC is recognized as a "100 Top Hospital" by Truven Health Analytics. Graduate Medical Education programs in the areas of Internal Medicine and Surgery will start in July 2019. Clinical Pharmacy Specialists are employed in the areas of Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Oncology and Antimicrobial Stewardship/Infectious Diseases. Additional residency experiences include Pharmacokinetics, Anticoagulation, Nutrition Support, Leadership, Medication Safety and Longitudinal Research. Pharmacists completing this residency will be trained to provide proficient, confident, and compassionate direct patient care in a community practice setting.
