This position is in the Department of Pediatrics Emergency Medicine. The position is located at Christian Northwest Healthcare.
Position provides primary and/or specialty nursing and/or medical care in an Emergency Department setting; works under physician oversight as required by state regulation, and functions within the scope of practice of midlevel practitioner NP/PA certification, BJC medical by-laws, and, where it exists, the collaborative practice agreement.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Takes active role in triage, advising patients, assessing needs, providing patient care and/or referring to appropriate other caregivers.
Monitors medical condition of patients, documenting charts and reporting changes as necessary.
Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with established hospital standards.
Writes initial histories, assess patients’ conditions and develops individual care plans for patients assigned.
Prepares patient for scheduled procedures to assist in patient assessment.
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Monitors/ensures accuracy of patient medical records, maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc.
Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
Assists with research studies, completing the necessary training requirements as needed.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current RN licensure in the state of Missouri.
Must have completed national certification exam and obtained nurse practitioner status in the state of Missouri.
Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Missouri by the Missouri Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
(ANCC) or equivalent body.
MSN with emphasis in the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program (FNP or Adult will not qualify).
APN licensure or ability to successfully obtain licensure within 3 months of date of hire.
Current MO RN licensure.
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Currently certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Licensed as appropriate in the state of Missouri.
A mid-level practitioner who has practiced as an NP/ or PA in a critical care setting for 3+ years.
Current or recent hospital experience within the Emergency Department highly preferred.
Two plus years’ experience in Pediatric health care.
The hiring range for this position is $78,146 - $109,408 annually.
