ASHP-accredited PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Residency Program
Orlando Regional Medical Center, a teaching hospital and Level I trauma center, is the primary training site for this one-year residency. This residency will provide the resident with a wide variety of emergency medicine and critical care experiences, ensuring the development of knowledge and skills required to provide optimal pharmaceutical care in any emergency department setting. Required learning experiences include: Emergency Medicine (5), Pediatric Emergency Medicine/Critical Care, Critical Care Medicine, and Trauma/General Surgery. Residency activities include completing an emergency medicine research project, presenting two formal ACPE-accredited seminars, leading two PGY-2 journal club groups, participating in committees, and performing additional emergency medicine projects. Clinical service coverage and pharmacy operations experiences are each conducted approximately one weekend per month. In addition to one emergency medicine residency position, Orlando Health offers eight additional residency positions including PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency (4), PGY-2 Critical Care (2), PGY-2 Hematology/Oncology (1), and PGY-2 Pediatrics (1).
