The purpose of the post-graduate year one (PGY-1) Pharmacy Residency Program at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center is to educate and train the clinical pharmacist for the provision of comprehensive pharmaceutical care. It consists of 12 months of general training and experience beginning on the third Monday of June. The resident will have the opportunity to enhance skills in areas such as providing patient-centered medication therapy management with interdisciplinary teams, exercising leadership and practice management skills, providing medication and practice-related education and utilizing medical informatics.
The required core rotations include areas in cardiology, critical care, emergency medicine, infectious disease, oncology and general medicine. Elective rotations include ambulatory care, geriatrics, medication safety and management, nephrology, NICU/pediatrics, pain management and pharmacy informatics. Due to the flexibility of the program, the resident also has the option to create their own elective rotation. Longitudinal rotations are also required include administrative leadership, research project, teaching certificate, pharmacy informatics and staffing.

Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy

Meet essential work requirements, such as passing the NAPLEX, NJ MJPE and obtaining NJ pharmacist licensure by September 1st
