The PGY-2 critical care resident position is an ASHP accredited one year specialty residency. The resident will gain experience in medical, surgical, cardiac, cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, and pulmonary intensive care areas. Additional experience will include ICU transplant medicine, ICU based nutrition support, emergency medicine, neonatal intensive care and ID stewardship. Research project, MUE, CE presentation, code blue coverage and on call programs are mandatory. The resident will be an active member of our system wide critical care counsel committee and have a significant role in emergency preparedness activities. The program is designed to help foster leadership skills. Other requirements include attending the ASHP annual midyear meeting, SCCM annual meeting and Great lakes residency conference. This resident will work with 10 pgy-1 general pharmacy practice residents, and residents in the following specialties, ID, pharmacotherapy, oncology and transplant medicine. The resident will also work with 12 LAPP students from Wayne state University, helping to attain valuable teaching experience?.
Successful completion of a ASHP pgy-1 residency or equvalent.
