To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experiences, and Stewardship, the emergency medicine clinical pharmacy specialist is responsible for performing clinical pharmacy services to patients in the emergency department to promote optimal clinical services on a daily basis. The emergency medicine clinical pharmacy specialist assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, effective and fiscally responsible drug therapies. The emergency medicine clinical pharmacy specialist will provide pharmacokinetic and medication verification support as needed or requested, inclusive of participating in system-wide clinical and operational performance improvement activities.

VitalWatch provides Health First’s critical care physicians, nurses and pharmacy specialist the ability to monitor real-time vital signs, laboratory results and complete electronic medical records of patients in various intensive care units at all four Health First hospitals from a central location.
As the only state-accredited Level II trauma center in Brevard and Indian River counties, the Trauma Center offers 24/7 care with rapid patient transport via First Flight aeromedical helicopter.
The qualified applicant must possess a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited college of pharmacy and must either possess or be eligible to obtain Florida Pharmacist Licensure. Applicant must have successfully completed an ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency. Completion of a ASHP Accredited PGY2 Emergency Medicine Residency is preferred. All offers are contingent upon a background check, reference check and pre-placement health assessment, which includes a drug test. If selected for an on-site interview, a presentation will be required as well as evaluation of patient and clinical team interaction.
