Since 2011, Holmes Regional Medical Center offers a 12-month, ASHP accredited PGY1 program. We also offer PGY2 programs in Critical Care and Health-System Pharmacy Administration. Our programs are designed to advance clinical capabilities in a wide variety of pharmacy settings within our integrated delivery network. This includes Holmes Regional, Cape Canaveral Hospital, Viera Hospital, Palm Bay Hospital, Physician Medical Group, and eICU.
The Department of Pharmacy’s mission is to provide quality patient care by optimizing medication use and ensuring medication safety. Integrated throughout the hospital, the pharmacy team is committed to evidence-based medicine and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide the highest quality pharmaceutical services. Pharmacists are involved in physician-led critical care and general medical rounds, cost savings and quality improvement projects, drug therapy surveillance, medication order entry, preparation and delivery, precepting residents and APPE students, and the anticoagulation clinic.
