POSITION OVERVIEW: Brevard Physician Associates, PLLC, a multi-specialty physician group, is in search of a self-directed and experienced Controller to oversee all financial and accounting activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, budget management, financial analysis, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The ideal candidate will primarily be accountable for:
Participate in the development of the company’s strategic plans, and provide necessary support to ensure its successful implementation
Work closely with the company’s billing service to determine rates, develop procedures and processes to improve revenue
Monitor the financial performance of the billing service as it relates to the company
Work with Chief Administrator to optimize managed care contract negotiations
Compile and analyze financial reporting packages
Prepare quarterly and annual operating budgets (for BPA as a whole, and each division)
Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
Monitor and manage banking relationships
Oversee payroll, tax return filings, workers comp audit, etc.
Oversee 401(k) and market-based cash balance (MBCB) plan contributions and reporting, perform internal audits, coordinate and oversee external audits, assist with non-discrimination testing (NDT) and work with Fidelity on preparation of the 5500, as well as amendments and other plan requirements
Work closely with CPA to ensure transparent and detailed financial accounting
Communicate financial metrics to senior management and the board
Provide leadership and support to accounts receivable and accounts payable departments
Maintain business ethics, integrity and transparency at all times
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
5+ year’s senior level experience working in a healthcare organization
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (MBA, MHA, or CPA preferred)
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Possess excellent analytic and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Excel and QuickBooks
Advanced knowledge of all other Microsoft applications
Emergency Medicine, Radiology, and/or Anesthesiology practice management experience is preferred, but not required.
