The UR Pharmacy Department is committed to improving the well-being of patients by delivering innovative, compassionate, patient- and family-centered comprehensive medication management, enriched by education, science, and technology. The Emergency Medicine (EM) residency program is a 12-month, full time, ASHP-accredited residency program designed to advance skills and provide essential elements to develop successful EM clinical pharmacists. Training will be in a variety of practice settings including the SMH adult/pediatric ED (120-bed, >115,000 patients/year), HH community ED, critical care units, toxicology consult service, and prehospital care. The resident will also participate on several response teams including code, trauma/burn, stroke, sepsis, pulmonary embolism, and myocardial infarction throughout the ED and institution.
