The Department of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. Responsibilities include providing direct emergency care to pediatric patients and supervision of emergency care to trainees. Faculty members are expected to participate in the instruction of medical students, paramedic and physician assistant students, residents (pediatrics, emergency medicine, and family medicine), fellows, and advanced practice nurses. This position will provide intermittent coverage at outreach locations and support of the hospital's strategic commitment to the development of an ED telemedicine program with partner organizations. Our Division’s diverse academic interests and expertise include rigorous research and quality improvement methodology, patient safety, advocacy, and medical education/simulation-based education. We are a well-established site within the Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network and other national research collaboratives. Our faculty lead both site directed and multicenter research in injury epidemiology & prevention, child maltreatment, ultrasonography, sepsis, large dataset analysis, and prospective clinical trials. Substantial mentoring resources for faculty are readily available within the division and beyond at FSM.
Qualified candidates must have their MD or DO and be board-certified in pediatrics or emergency medicine, and have completed a PEM fellowship and should hold or be eligible to sit for board certification in PEM. A competitive compensation and benefits package commensurate with academic rank and experience will be offered. The proposed start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.
