We are seeking a RN - Nurse Manager of Emergency Department to:
Direct the planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care programs for the Emergency Department and work with associated facilities and the pre-hospital health care system.
Collaborate with medical faculty and other nursing managers on all issues related to the management of patient care.
Education: Minimum - BS in Nursing Preferred - MS in Nursing
Work Experience: Minimum - Three (3) years ED, critical care or relevant nursing experience. Three (3) years progressive nursing leadership experience with demonstrated success Preferred - Previous management experience in an academic medical center in Emergency Department.
Licenses and Certifications: Minimum - RN licensed in the State of Wisconsin. BLS and ACLS certifications
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Managerial skills necessary to plan, organize, and direct operational activities.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels.
Must be comfortable with an interdisciplinary culture of collaboration.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements: Light: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
Monday - Friday, hours ranging from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm, with some early morning or early evening meetings scheduled periodically. On call required one weekend per month. Additional hours as needed in this 24/7 department to meet operational needs.
