Work Schedule: FT; Monday-Friday, 5:30am-2pm. Other shifts as assigned.
General Description: The Warehouse Clerk maintains a positive company image by supporting the cooks, chefs, and Team Members with courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service. This position receives goods, takes inventory, delivers goods from the bakery and commissary to satellite operations, and maintains clean and sanitary dry good and cold storage areas. This position reports to the Operations Managers.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Receive all goods and stores for Dining, Retail, and Catering units in a timely and efficient manner.
Verify and compare prices and quantities of all receivables against purchase requisitions issued.
Check all goods received for quality. Verify goods received are in good condition and meet standards and specifications set forth by the Operations Managers.
Ensure that all goods are received and handled in a manner that complies with Dining Services and Health Department standards. Stock and rotate all items received in a timely and efficient manner using FIFO and other guidelines set forth by the Operations Managers.
Inventory all goods for Dining, Retail, and Catering units on a regular basis as prescribed by the Operations Managers.
Maintain the organization and cleanliness of all storage spaces including freezers, walk-ins, and dry storage areas to Health Department Standards and University Standards of Safety.
Operate and sanitize all kitchen/servery/dish room equipment in a safe and proper manner.
Follow proper cleaning, maintenance, and reporting procedures. Comply with all safety standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Dining Service’s team members are essential university personnel. In the event of PLU declaring emergency status essential university personnel must contact supervisor to obtain schedule.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other university leadership, team members, and customers.
Ability to multitask and utilize effective time management during production.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to visually examine products for quality and signage/labeling for accuracy.
Ability to detect food and labor waste issues and develop a plan of corrective action.
Ability to provide exemplary customer service constantly and consistently.
Operational knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment including the proper use of slicers, knives, box cutters, a dumpster, and all related equipment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule occasionally including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Required Qualifications: 1. One year of warehouse or customer service experience. 2. High school diploma or GED. 3. High standard of personal hygiene. 4. Valid WA State Food Handler’s Permit or the ability to obtain one before beginning employment. 5. Valid Driver’s License (Must have had a valid driver’s license for at least 2yrs). 6. Finalist applicants must satisfactorily complete pre-employment background check, physical exam, drug screen (including marijuana), pass PLU’s Driver’s Certification Training, and provide an original copy of their Driving Record (5-year Employment Abstract).
Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of computer applications.
Work in/around hot, dry, cold, wet, and/or humid conditions.
Often work with/around standard kitchen/dishroom equipment requiring protective equipment.
Ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift loads up to 50 lbs. unassisted, push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.
