Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a per diem Physician Specialist for the Department of Pediatrics at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The primary purpose of the Physician Specialist position is to provide specialized clinical care and consultations for patients in the Department of Pediatrics, Child Neurology and Neurodevelopmental Division. The Physician will provide per diem coverage for 12 hours per week.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Evaluates and manages pediatric neurology patients in both the outpatient and inpatient settings.
Receives phone calls from emergency coverage line from referring doctors, Emergency Medicine physicians or Hospital physicians at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with neurological consults.
Develops, implements and evaluates plans of treatment.
Collaborates with nursing staff, social workers, case managers and other healthcare professionals.
Provides clinical advice for physicians caring for inpatients.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Valid New Jersey Medical License and CDS/DEA certifications.
Qualified candidates must be board certified/board eligible in Neurology with special qualifications in Child Neurology.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Standing, walking, sitting, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Ability to lift or exert force up to 25 lbs.
