Ambulatory Care Pharmacy, Critical Care Pharmacy
The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency consists of core rotations in administration, critical care, internal medicine, infectious diseases, and ambulatory care. Residents tailor their residency experience by selecting 3 electives from a list of more than 16 elective options. The health system has the following offerings/services: Center for Heart and Vascular Health, Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, computer equipped medical libraries, electronic medical and medication administration records, barcode point of care medication administration, extensive on-line medical references and resources and affiliations with two colleges of pharmacy for student rotations.
The PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency prepares the resident to provide pharmaceutical care to critically ill patients. Opportunities in the critical care setting include: Medical ICU, Surgical/Trauma Critical Care Complex, Christiana Emergency Department, Cardiac Critical Care Complex, Neuro Critical Care Complex, Nutrition Support and Infectious Diseases. Electives include Cardiac Surgery ICU, Neonatal ICU, Wilmington Emergency Department, and Kidney Transplant. The resident will complete a research project, CE presentation, and gain writing, speaking, and teaching experience.
