The PGY-1 residency program at South Florida Baptist Hospital is designed to provide expert training and experience in a wide-variety of acute care settings in effort to produce a well-rounded, skilled clinical pharmacist. Over the course of twelve months, the resident will gain experience in a broad range of clinical areas including internal medicine, critical care, infectious diseases, drug information, oncology, nutrition, emergency medicine, therapeutic policy, pain/palliative care, and pharmacy administration. The residency is highly customizable to resident interest and includes opportunities for precepting pharmacy students, obtaining teaching certification, development of written and oral presentation skills, research, and the growth of leadership skills.
Eligible candidates will have obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy prior to the start of the program and must be eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) in the state of Florida
Candidates who meet eligibility requirements are invited to apply for a PGY1 residency position by submitting an application via PhORCAS (Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service) by January 10th, 2019.
