Signature Healthcare is seeking a dynamic and energetic Chief, Department of Surgery who will lead the supervision, administration, and assurance of delivery of high quality care in the department.

The Department of Surgery at SHC provides a broad spectrum of general and specialty surgical services. Divisions included within the Department of Surgery are General Surgery (including Colorectal and Surgical Oncology), Bariatric Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, Urology and Vascular Surgery.
The Chief of Surgery will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Department. The Chief will provide clinical leadership to support exceptional quality and cost-effective care. He/She will demonstrate emotional maturity and build strong collaborative partnerships within and among disciplines. Furthermore, the Chief will possess strong communication skills, appreciating differing views while building a diverse and engaged clinical team. It is anticipated that the Chief will develop and maintain a degree of activity in his/her subspecialty, to be determined based on preference and organizational need.
The selected physician leader will possess experience in the following:
Minimum of 10-15 years of postgraduate clinical experience in the field of surgery.
MD or DO; Board Certified in Surgery/Surgical Specialty.
Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the state of Massachusetts.
Five or more years of as a Medical Director, Division Chief, or Associate Chief/Chair role.
Experience working with employed and private (voluntary) medical staff members.
Recruitment, onboarding, and development of surgeons and advanced practice providers.
Working knowledge of the financial and business aspects of Department leadership.
Demonstrates an understanding of the ACO environment and value-based care.
