Wheless Partners has been engaged to lead a national search for a Chief Nursing Officer for Baptist Health Louisville, an award winning, twice Magnet designated, 519-bed regional referral center that serves as the flagship facility of the prestigious 9-hospital Baptist Health System. Baptist Health is a not-for-profit system with over $2.7 billion in annual net revenues and is the largest health system in Kentucky with over 17,000 employees, 300 community access points, and an employed physician network of over 1,000+ providers that serves 74% of the states total population. Reporting to the President of Baptist Health Louisville, the CNO will serve as a key member of the hospital’s senior leadership team and regularly interrelate with the CNOs of other Baptist Health System hospitals. He/she will represent the flagship facility at the system-level by participating in the Health System Nurse Executive Council and numerous other system-level initiatives ensuring best practice. The CNO will collaborate closely with his/her executive colleagues in Louisville and across the system to ensure the successful achievement of all hospital and system-wide operational and strategic goals and help drive and model a culture focused on quality, patient safety, high reliability, fiscal responsibility, patient experience, innovation, growth, and employee engagement.
The CNO will have executive responsibility for providing leadership, direction, and administration of direct patient care activities, nursing practice standards, and nursing education and development across all inpatient and ambulatory sites of care for Baptist Health Louisville. The ideal CNO candidate will be an experienced nurse executive skilled in change management who is highly visible and approachable, skilled in change management, and brings proven operational and strategic leadership expertise gained in competitive, high volume, medically complex organizations.

In June 2018, Larry Gray was tapped by System CEO, Gerard Colman, to serve as the new President of Baptist Health Louisville. Baptist Health Louisville is equally focused on effective and efficient operations and strategic growth of key clinical programs and services. The hospital projects total net revenues of $540 million for FY 2018, and projected volumes for key metrics will be:

EDUCATION, LICENSURE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
MSN is required, and a Doctoral Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Successful candidates will possess 5-10 years of progressive nurse leadership experience as a CNO within a high volume, medically complex organization. Experience in a Magnet organization is strongly preferred, along with Service Line leadership, and process improvement.
Must have (or obtain) licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kentucky; must have knowledge of current trends and principles in Nursing Administration as well as current issues in healthcare, and membership and active participation in AONE, ACHE and other organizations related to the nursing profession and nursing administration.
