The Admissions Nurse will conduct assessments on patients who seek evaluation for psychiatric and substance abuse treatment with established standards of professional nursing care. This nurse will also obtain Physician Orders, and willÂ assist the Admissions Department through call taking, assessing medical stability for those who present in the Admissions Department, assist with medical transfers to other hospital emergency rooms and utilize psychiatric clinical skills as a first line direct patient care provider. The Admissions Nurse willÂ also provide appropriate referrals to programs either within the facility or outside the facilityÂ and provide a smooth entry into the facility by explaining admission procedures.
Other responsibilities include the documenting andÂ processing of Â inquiry calls in accordance with Intake policies,Â conducting assessments on individuals experiencing crises. participation in screening patients for admission into both inpatient and outpatient hospital programs, utilizing pre-approved admissions criteria set forth by the Medical Staff.
