The College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a VeterinaryTechnician for its Small Animal Emergency & Critical Care/ICU unit.The primary purpose of this position is toprovide intermediate-level nursing care to hospitalized critically ill/injured,post-operative, and infectious small animal patients by making patientassessments, performing triage, and preparing patients for exams or treatments.Triages patients upon arrival and prioritizes those in most critical need.Continuously evaluates patient status and collaborates with clinicians andother team members to communicate changes in patient status to ensureappropriate treatment is provided. Communicates with clients regardingpatient's condition and counsels on the need for care. Teaches clinicalapplication of technical procedures, drug administration, and critical thinkingskills to veterinary students. Mentors and trains junior staff members andveterinary technician interns.Maintainsand cleans equipment and supplies.
