Job Requisition Number: 25583. University Health Services (UHS) serves the campus as a comprehensive campus-based health center providing fully accredited primary medical care, counseling and psychological services and innovative health promotion programs for students, faculty, and staff. THe UHS provides on-campus medical and mental health care and coordinates off-campus care through a network of community specialists and hospitals. Departments serving students include general medical, specialty and urgent care clinics, counseling and psychological services, laboratory, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology and health promotion. In addition, the UHS administers a major medical insurance plan, the Student Health Insurance Plan.
Infection Control 1.Cleans and disinfects all exam rooms including counters, treatment cabinets, exam tables, floor lamps, table lamps, clinician stools, patient chairs, wall mounted desks, colposcopes, wall mounted units. 2.Cleans and disinfects counters in microscope room and Nurses’ Station. 3.Washes, scrubs, prepares and sterilizes instruments, equipment, devices according to standard infection control procedures. 4.Completes sterilization procedures for equipment and supplies by chemical or heat sterilization procedures for UHS and IA as needed. 5.Demonstrates competency in the use of equipment specific to work area, e.g. sterilizer, autoclave, etc. 6.Maintains clinical lounges and keep refrigerators clean and orderly 7.Reads and understands Infection Control Policies at UHS. 8.Follows Universal Precaution procedures. 9.Demonstrates ability to organize tasks and work efficiently.
Supply Duties 1.Maintains adequate supplies in each exam room according to written procedure. 2.Maintains fully supplied and orderly stocking cart. 3.Unpacks shelved goods received; must be able to lift supplies up to 25 pounds. 4.Informs supervisor in a timely manner of needed supplies.
Quality Control Duties 1.Checks all solutions, medications, injectables, ointments etc. in exam rooms and utility rooms to assure expiration dates have not been overlooked. 2.Maintains orderly utility rooms 3.Removes expired items and returns to pharmacy or lab as indicated.
Safety Duties 1.Follows principles of good body mechanics to prevent injury and fatigue. 2.Uses gloves when performing any cleaning tasks involving detergents, cleaning agents, bleach, cleansers, and germicides. 3.Follows UHS policies in reporting injury or illness related to work. 4.Familiarizes self with disaster, fire, emergency plans and regulations. 5.Reports and documents appropriately any unsafe conditions or equipment or facility.
General Professional Duties and Communications 1.Adheres to lines of authority and uses proper channels of communication. 2.Respects and guards confidentiality of patients and staff. 3.Demonstrates courteous and service oriented behavior at all times when interacting with patients, UHS and University staff. 4.Requests and accepts constructive criticism. 5.Seeks to improve knowledge and skills. 6.Demonstrates punctuality to work. Maintains attendance and follows written and call-in policies related to absences. 7.Shares knowledge with others. Trains/orients new personnel in HA role as directed by Clinic Manager.

Education/Training: High school diploma or GED Employment is contingent on successful completion of: Background Check, Acceptable Medical Evaluation that includes infectious disease surveillance and proof of current required vaccinations or immunity levels, and successful credentials verification (if applicable).
