All Saints is a 356-bed community hospital located in Racine, Wisconsin. Our comprehensive medical facility integrates the Pharmacy Department in every step of the medication-use process from general medicine to specialty areas including NICU/pediatrics, oncology, medication safety, critical care, , infectious disease, transitions of care, and emergency medicine. Pharmacists at All Saints also participate in all medical emergencies. There are training opportunities for both IPPE and APPE students and the pharmacy department hosts students from the University of Wisconsin, Concordia University, Rosalind Franklin University, Medical College of Wisconsin Pharmacy School, as well as many others. Students and residents are engaged throughout the hospital and will work closely with many other health professionals including physicians, nurses, dieticians, PT/OT, and mid-level practitioners; all from various disciplines and practices.
The program emphasizes progressive pharmacy practice in a community hospital setting. Rotations include: pharmacy practice, internal medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, chronic disease management/transitions of care, antibiotic stewardship, drug policy and administration as well as an elective rotations in academia, ambulatory care, informatics and medication safety. Travel includes: ASHP Midyear and the Wisconsin Pharmacy Residency Conference. Presentations at conferences and to nursing, medical and pharmacy staff are expected. All Saints is affiliated with Concordia University School of Pharmacy and residents are offered an opportunity to obtain a teaching certificate during the academia rotation.
