DUTIES: Duties are as follows but not limited to; *Schedule and reschedule all imaging procedures using the Radiology Information System. *Confirm appointments and provide instructions to patients for their procedures. *Collaboration with supervisory staff, nursing, physicians and technicians to facilitate an efficient work flow. *Responsible for obtaining insurance authorization, patient registration, verification of patient's demographic, review preference cards to ensure accuracy and completion. *Interview and obtain demographic and financial information for hospital and professional billing. *Modify and update billing, clinical and appropriate information in the RIS. *Ensure accurate entries in RIS, and prompt scheduling of all modalities. *Secure referrals and/or authorization for reimbursement from insurance companies. *Reconcile schedule with daily visit reports. *verify both written and printed referring physician document including referral/authorization received. *Secure authorization numbers and other pertinent billing and clinical information in the EAGLE 2000 Hospital Information System. *Arrange timely Radiology appointments for patients in RIS selecting accurate referring physician name and appropriate serial/billing number from EAGLE(clinic or private patient). *Burning CD's and scanning requisitions into the PACS system as needed. *Maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality. *Provide holiday and additional emergency coverage when necessary. *Assist with the preparation and mailing of legal files. *Assist with file room duties as required. *Assist with front desk coverage as required.
