The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency offered at Presbyterian Hospital in downtown Albuquerque is a flexible program designed to provide residents with unique experiences in both clinical and administrative practice. Written and oral communication skills are emphasized throughout the program and residents will gain experience teaching through in-service presentations to our pharmacy, nursing, and medical staff. Residents also serve as preceptors for students at the University of New Mexico (UNM) College of Pharmacy and have the option to obtain a teaching certificate offered by UNM.
Learning experiences are typically five weeks long (flexible, depending on resident interests) and include all required and one elective learning experience. July will be an orientation month, during which the residents will rotate through the main pharmacy and the various pharmacist-staffed units.
