The Transport Nurse Clinician (TNC) provides patient care in a mobile environment to high risk patients and their families being transported to/from Children's Hospital of Wisconsin – located in Milwaukee. The TNC acts as a resource hospital wide for patient care standards and pre-code recognition. As a recognized resource, the TNC assists in establishing and maintaining a high quality standard of care for the neonatal and pediatric transport population. Within the call center, the TNC acts as a resource to community and hospital based physicians for pediatric consultations, transfer recommendations, and a smooth transition to and from Children's Hospital and Health System.

Broad based knowledge of pediatric nursing practice acquired through completion of a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing. An Associate or diploma prepared nurse will be considered with the understanding that BSN degree completion would occur within three years of hire date.
Must possess current Wisconsin State License as a Registered Nurse .
Three years critical care nursing experience in order to develop a comprehensive understanding of patient care within a defined patient population and gain knowledge and skill in pediatric nursing procedures and standards. Consideration will be given to nurses who have at least two years of EMS experience with two years of pediatric critical care experience. Pediatric experience preferred.
Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
Acquires and maintains: Joint Commission requirements, NRP, PALS and ACLS certification.
Must pass pre-placement physical exam and meet health requirements for flying within the physical capacity evaluation prior to hire and annually. Transport team must meet height requirements of not greater than 6ft 2in., not less than 4 ft 10 in. Transport team members must maintain a mission ready weight less than 245 pounds. Mission ready is defined as your weight including the flight suit, boots, and helmet with liner, coat with liner, and any other personal items that you carry.
