The goal of the mentorship program is to provide a structured environment to develop confident clinicians. The first year of practice is an important time for Veterinarians. After completion of the program Veterinarians will be provided with a solid foundation for a long and successful career in emergency or general practice. This is a 1 year mentorship program with opportunity for contract renewal as an Associate Veterinarian. Competitive salary with production incentive potential.
Benefits package includes; Moving allowance, stipend for licensing and membership dues, medical benefits, generous pet discount, 401K, uniform allowance and PTO.
This 1 year mentorship program allows Veterinarians to be immersed in emergency medicine. New graduates are always scheduled on shift with a senior clinician dedicated to mentoring and ensuring success while allowing new graduates to maintain primary care responsibility. In additions new graduates are supervised during surgery with the goal of them becoming competent in soft tissue emergency surgery such as C-sections, pyometra, gastrotomy, enterotomy, gastropexy, and splenectomy. Further training can per pursued by rotating through our internal medicine department and can be arranged with different specialties including cardiology, surgery, neurology and ophthalmology. Group learning with all clinicians include journal club, topic, case-based and exotic rounds are held monthly. All new graduates are put through an 8 hours FAST vet CE to learn point of care ultrasound.
Life friendly schedule as all shifts are scheduled 8-12 hours. We believe in a balance between work and personal time to allow opportunity for rest, hobbies and study.
By the end of the year new graduates will be well-versed in most ECC presentations, and be proficient in typical ECC skills, procedures and surgeries. After completion of the program new graduates will be highly marketable, capable and comfortable practicing in any small animal emergency or general practice.
