The Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine invites applications for a 100% clinical or tenure track, open rank faculty position in the Neuroradiology Division of the Department of Radiology.
Candidates must have four years post-doctoral training in radiology and be board certified or eligible by the American Board of Radiology. Preference will be given to those individuals who hold a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Neuroradiology or those who are CAQ eligible.
About the Department of Radiology:
The Radiology Department includes thirty-seven staff physicians, fourteen fellows, fifteen Ph.D. researchers, and thirty-six residents. The Section of Neuroradiology at The University of Iowa handles a busy clinical service and members are active in multiple areas of research. The Department operates seven clinical MDCT scanners including three dual source state-of-the-art CT scanners capable of advanced hardware artifact reduction techniques, and bone marrow edema imaging. The University of Iowa operates eight state-of-the art clinical MRI scanners (six 1.5T systems and two 3T systems); a PET/MR is set to be installed in 2019. In addition, we have one 7 T scanner, and one 3 T scanner dedicated to research. The Department interacts closely with our Nuclear Medicine colleagues in the combined PET/CT program and have active research programs in MR spectroscopy, fMRI, DWI, DTI, etc., with on-site Ph.D. support provided by our three MR physicists.
