Duties of a Programmer Analyst in the Help Desk Department may include the following but are not limited to: Respond to all incoming requests for support received in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. Including, but not limited to electronic tickets, telephone calls, E-mails and other forms of customer contact. Provide first level troubleshooting and resolution of problems pertaining to organization's PCs, laptops, smartphones, mobile care carts and printers. Prioritize and troubleshoot problems reported. Provide a resolution to problem whenever possible or escalate to the next level of support as necessary. Collect all details pertaining to the issue or request and enter into the Service Desk Management system to ensure timely and efficient Information Technology collaboration. Ensure that all requests for mobile devices and cell phones and associated services are processed in a timely manner. Provide mobile device/cell phone ordering, inventory and technical support for all Information Technology recommended cellular and smart phone devices and equipment. Review the procedures and documentation to activate new mobile devices and cellphones. Maintain up to date documentation and knowledge on SOP for mobile devices/cellphones and periodically review and update documentation as necessary. Research, test and implement new Hardware, Mobile Devices and Software Technology that have been developed and tested with other members of the Information Technology Department. Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software to include, but not limited to PCs, peripherals, operating systems and application software in a networked environment. Develop documentation and research tools to aid in the set-up and troubleshooting of computers on the SBUMC network. Maintain excellent communication with co-workers, hardware and technical support personnel and management, including visiting customers or department personnel. Report and escalate high priority/emergency issues with supervisor or manager. Communicate project status, and provide periodic and weekly updates to supervisor or manager. Advise management of any suspected security breached or possible security defects. Report changes to policy or procedures and submit updates to the Knowledge Base system or SOP Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Associates or Technical degree in computer related field. Three to five years experience in IT support, including desktop operating systems (Win/Mac) and mobile operating systems (Android/iOS). Experience in a Cellular Phone and Mobile Device organization or environment performing customer service duties. Must have excellent technical skills and troubleshooting knowledge of Windows/MAC OS, iOS and Android Smart Phone devices. Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer related field, project management experience, and previous experience working in a Health Care facility. Experience working as a front-line employee in a customer service environment for major cellular phone carriers; Verizon Wireless, Sprint, ATT, or T-Mobile. Experience providing assistance to customers on administrative, billing and technical issues in a high volume environment. Special Note: Stony Brook Medicine is a smoke free environment.
