The Medical Research Associate will be working with Dept of Emergency Medicine Research Chair, research students, and computer programmers to review the literature on medical predictors of severity of illness, development of complications and most important treatments in a number of emergency medical conditions.
This will require being very knowledgeable about a large variety of medical conditions, their treatment and indicators of improvement and worsening.
The MRA will also need to be effective at using very large databases as the entire Emergency Dept and Hospital EMR will be accessed.
The MRA will then use the databases constructed to develop Severity of Illness models that are specific to different diseases and age groups. The models will also have “Response to Treatment” algorithms that can be used in actual clinical practice.
The MRA will also need to be effective at designing data findings for graphic formats.
