Hospital: PENROSE HOSPITAL
Schedule: Per Request Needed (about 16 hours a week)
Coordinates and performs cooking responsibilities. Sets up and takes down before/after catered events. Responsible for oversight of schedule for all catered events. Responsible for billing and accounting of Catering and physician lounges.
Minimum Education Requirements
Culinary degree, preferred.
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum Experience Requirements
Knowledge of banquets and catering.
Proficient in word-processing, excel, and possesses general computer knowledge.
Demonstrates proficiency with recipes, recipe development, and standard kitchen equipment.
2 years of experience in large quantity food preparation/production.

Cooks food according to standardized recipes. *
Prepares food items for all catered events according to the schedule. *
Creates ideas and recipes for new catering and café menus. *
Prepares foods to adhere to the catering schedules. *
Maintains clean kitchen environment and follows cleaning schedule. *
Prepares meals, sets-up and delivers catered meals to event location(s). *
Coordinates with Executive Chef to determine menu and order products. *
Follow Health Department policies regarding food safety and sanitation. *
Solves problems and makes decisions on a daily basis relative to appropriate and applicable operational business matters. This includes mediating disputes, encouraging a cooperative work ethic and culture and change management. *
Professional role model for all staff. *
Effectively uses time, personnel, equipment and supplies to provide high quality, cost effective delivery of patient care. *

Maintains catering calendar by confirming all catered functions 1 week prior to event regarding menu, cost and count. *
Makes appropriate room arrangements, utilizing EMS. *
Places food orders(s) through vendors in absence of Executive Chef. *
Coordinates accounting and billing process for all events and lounges. *
Works with staff and other departments in coordinating effective communication activities. *
Portrays appropriate confidentiality when communicating. *
Prioritizes multiple department tasks and projects to ensure they are completed in the required time frame.*
Ability to organize work in order to complete required duties and time constraints. *
Helps to maintain a positive, team oriented, professional service conscious environment. *
Treats all customers with respect, exhibits good customer service skills, and focuses on product and service quality. *
Flexes schedule (possible split shifts and weekends) to meet demands of catering events. *
