Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager-Emergency Management.
In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for managing, planning, operations, development, and performing highly responsible administrative work in the field of Emergency Management. The manager will manage a team of specialist who will support execution across the entire Emergency Management & Enterprise Resilience department.
Lead interdisciplinary teams (consisting of managers and leadership from individual facilities as well as from across the NYULMC Enterprise) to conceive and execute broad-based and integrated programs of emergency management planning, training and exercises
Develop (author) and promulgate operations-level plans and detailed tactical procedures for emergency response and enterprise resilience
Build and maintain sustaining professional relationships with staff, managers, departments and facilities across the NYULMC Enterprise
Work with staff, managers, departments and facilities to test, review and update emergency operations plans, business continuity plans and tactical procedures to ensure their successful implementation
Facilitate strategic risk reviews with key stakeholders to maintain the Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA) and the comprehensive all-hazards Emergency Operations Plan (EOP)
On a rotating schedule with other EM+ER staff, be available on an on-call basis to receive incident notifications and to activate and lead emergency management response activities
Be available to work off-hours (nights and weekends) as needed during emergencies
Serve in a key emergency management leadership role during incidents, emergencies and disasters of all types and sizes
Represent NYULMC to emergency management agencies, regulatory agencies and other external stakeholders on matters regarding emergency management
Mentor and manage assigned staff to support the job responsibilities listed herein
Support Enterprise efforts to maintain compliance with Joint Commission and CARF requirements for emergency management
Recommend and coordinate procurement of equipment related to emergency management as well as auditing its maintenance
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, Healthcare Administration, Occupational Health and Safety or another appropriate discipline Experience equivalent to 4 years of relevant work in a field such as emergency management, public health, hospital administration or emergency services
Preferred Qualifications: Comprehensive knowledge of National Incident Management System and Incident Command System Comprehensive knowledge of Joint Commission, CARF and other regulatory agency requirements related to emergency management Experience devising and conducting HSEEP (Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program) compliant exercises Master's Degree in an appropriate discipline Proven success writing detailed emergency plans Proven success building consensus within diverse groups of stakeholders Strong facilitation skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Supervisory experience managing small teams in high pressure work environments Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects within specified deadlines Real-world emergency management experience
