This includes providing consultation, guidance, and coordination of contingency and disaster recovery requirements for IT Services. The position will initially focus on the disaster recovery initiative while assuming the business continuity portion of the program over time.Responsibilities include:Program analysis responsibility for business continuity and disaster recovery planning efforts with a major focus on establishing business unit contingency plans for critical areas, functions and applications.Provide program analysis and project coordination between clinical and business operations, information technology (IT) and other areas specific to business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives.Identifies disaster threats and vulnerabilities to UW Medicine facilities, staff, data centers, and systems. Develops a formal Hazard and Vulnerabilities Assessment (HVA), and works closely with leadership on risk remediation or mitigation plans.Develops business continuity and disaster recovery plans and procedures across the enterprise; coordinates and oversees program's testing; ensures plans are current, relevant, and tested.Works directly and collaboratively with stakeholders and staff to properly identify and fully document primary business functions; establishes System Criticality Rankings, Recovery Time Objectives, and Recovery Point Objectives as required by the business. Ensures alignment of business recovery requirements with IT recovery capabilities; identifies gaps and facilitates corrective action to ensure recovery capability is in place to meet the needs of the enterprise.Facilitates the completion of Business Impact Analysis (BIA) across the enterprise. Prepares detailed documentation of findings with emphasis on risk analysis, including clinical impacts, financial loss and critical customer service capability. Facilitates the creation of IT Disaster Recovery Plans and IT Business Continuity Plans; assists with scheduling and monitoring tests specific to systems and infrastructure; records findings, tracks open issues through to completion. Maintains standards and templates for Business Impact Analysis (BIA); ePHI Back-up, Recovery, and Testing; DR Testing; Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans, tasks, and responsibilities. Assists with the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all business continuity and disaster recovery functions.Prepares schedules for, and facilitates the execution of ePHI Systems Back-up and Recovery testing.Transitions Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity project initiation and execution activities into day-to-day operational processes.Participate in requirements gathering and implementation of new IT applications specific to business continuity initiatives.Maintains current knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery issues and trends through education, seminars, and research.Provides disaster recovery awareness and preparedness training to staff.Assists with the development, implementation, deployment, training and testing of Crisis Management and Major Incident processes to include procedures, emergency response team structures, IT Command Centers, tools and work aids, and emergency / event notification and associated procedures.Facilitates process improvement across the organization for key areas such as change management for Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity procedures, Post Incident Review, operational procedure integration between IT and Clinical Operations, and other process improvement opportunities identified by leadership.Prepares and maintains metrics for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery as appropriate.Other duties as assigned.What you'll bring to the table: (minimum requirements) Bachelor's degree in in business, information systems or health administration or equivalent combination of education/experience.8+ years experience must include the following:8+ years' experience in disaster recovery management with problem solving and continuity solution project management.6+ years' experience with crisis and incident management.Demonstrated understanding of the HIPPA Security Rule for Contingency Planning and the Joint Commission Information Management Standard for Continuity of Information SystemsDemonstrated understanding of the FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) and the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS).Successful candidates will also possess:Excellent written and oral communication, presentation and organizational skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Ideally, you'll also have: (desired skills and experience)8+ years' experience in business continuity management with problem solving and continuity solution project management.Experience in a healthcare information technology environment.Certifications preferred: Certified Business Continuity Professional (for example ABCP, CFCP, CBCP, MBCP certification or equivalent); and/or Healthcare Provider Continuity Professional (AHPCP, CHPCP) (or demonstration that progress is being made on a specific certification track).PMI - PMP Certification a plus.Strong information systems technology background preferred.What are some of the other tidbits that you might want to know?Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.This advertised job posting may not include the complete official job description for the role.The application process for UW Medicine positions may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process (i.e. Work Authorization, Criminal Conviction History, Cover Letter and/or others).
