Ophthalmologist – Rochester, NY – Sign on Bonus and Relocation Allowance! Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Services (VSES) has an opportunity for a full-time, board-certified/board-eligible Ophthalmologist to join our growing team. Our ophthalmology service has been a busy service for over 10 years. Our full-time ophthalmologist left the area at the end of 2017, and the service is currently supported by consultant ophthalmologists. We want to return to a full-time ophthalmology service. We have an existing patient load and referral base to support that. We are the only 24/7/365 emergency and specialty referral veterinary hospital in the Rochester area. Our 28,000-square-foot facility is equipped with the latest in veterinary technology, including Kowa SL-17 slit lamps, binocular indirect ophthalmoscope with an assortment of condensing lenses, Reichert tonopen, Retinal Graphics ERG, Zeiss operating microscope with an assistant’s head, I-Med phacoemulsification unit and Diovet diode laser with G-probes and a laser-indirect headset. We also have a dedicated ophthalmology operating room. Our facility also hosts a complete onsite diagnostic laboratory, comprehensive surgical suites and advanced imaging capability including CT/MRI. As a member of the VSES family, you will work alongside our diverse and talented team including board-certified specialists in internal medicine (2), surgery (2), neurology (part-time), dermatology (part-time), and radiology (per diem). Our emergency service consists of emergency veterinarians (8), including rotating interns (6), specialized interns in medicine and surgery and surgical residents (3). To support our growing practice, a criticalist and a third internist will be joining the team in the fall of 2018. VSES is also recruiting for a cardiologist and two radiologists.
Rochester is in Western New York, one hour from the Finger Lakes region and three hours from Toronto. Rochester offers a range of cultural, sporting, and recreational activities including camping, wine tasting, and water sports.
