The individual ensures that the Clinical Pastoral Education Program at St. Anthony North and St. Anthony Hospital is the optimal expression of the religious and spiritual character to the organization, care of its patients, and training of hospital chaplains. Relationally, the position is a key partnership with the VP of Mission and Group VP of Community Health and Values Integration, area clergy and faith based community organizations.
Master Degree-Theology or related field
Current supervisory certification with the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE)
Knowledge of and role model to the values of Centura Health
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Exhibits understanding of the mission and ministry of the church as espoused in the life of Christ.
Solid standing within the community and his/her own church.
Three years of healthcare leadership experience.
Five years of active ministry in church or healthcare setting.
Exhibits a strong maturity for leading change and a collaborative style of management.
Certified as an active supervisor with the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education
POSITION DUTIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, INCLUDE 100% OF TIME)
Manages all aspects of the CPE program at St. Anthony Hospital - 70% weight
Manages the budget of CPE program
Maintains confidential records and program files as well as all correspondence with ACPE and The National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NAAC)
Advances CPE curriculum.
Provides insightful supervision appropriate to training and abilities of residents/interns.
Provides visionary and effective recruitment/management/supervision/evaluation to the CPE program
Builds partnerships and relations with faith based community agencies to support the education and recruitment of chaplains - 15% weight
Maintains and creates relationships to assure strong pool of chaplain resident and intern applicants
from state, national and regional organizations.
Interviews chaplain resident and intern applicants
Manages relationships with the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education.
Contributes and participates in the system wide community of learning for CPE.
Provides for the ongoing education of chaplains - 10% weight
Provides monthly educational opportunities for chaplains
Provides for in-services on the use of spiritual care with associates particularly nursing departments
Provides community events for the ongoing formation of area clergy about changes in healthcare and the visitation of their patients
Attends and leads staff meetings
Assists the VP of Mission Integration as requested - 15% weight
Meets regularly and assists the VP of Mission as needed.
Serve as an alternative mission voice at orientations.
Works to resolve complaints in a timely manner.
Attends community meetings as requested.
Attends meetings at the Service Center as required.
Abe to articulate the legacy of our heritage and faith based identify.
