Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Operations Analyst.
In this role, the successful candidate The Operations Analyst will be responsible for building and integrating, operational reporting for the NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn Department of Medicine and Emergency Medicine. The performance indicators will span quality, patient safety, patient experience, access, and clinical operations.
Generate routine reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and ad hoc reports specific to the Department of Medicine inpatient service.
Collect and analyze data, and generate reports specific to the Department of Medicine inpatient service.
May participate on project teams to complete high level analysis or special reports.
Conducts statistical analysis and evaluation of unit services and performance.
Provides information monthly and as needed to chair/medical director/administrator
Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual summary and detail reports of operational performance and expense information.
Analyzes departmental resources, services, systems, budgets and programs.
Analyzes and evaluates operational and financial functions of emergency department.
Functions as a primary resource for the collection of data, analysis and evaluation of operational resources, services, programs, systems, budgets and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Information Systems or related field required. Masters degree preferred. Minimum three years progressively responsible experience in healthcare finance or project management, with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, reporting with multi-disciplinary organizational and operational structure. Requires critical thinking and decision support skills. Knowledge of Tableau strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics and information system management with an interest in applying their skills to operational improvement initiatives. Experience with databases and dynamic excel modeling strongly preferred. Excellent analytical, communication and customer service skills. Strong working knowledge of hospital operations sufficient to perform in-depth research, analytical studies, report preparation, generation of recommendations and development of improvement plans. Demonstrated analytical and operational management skills Demonstrated effective communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary professional and technical staff and to maintain high degree of confidentiality, as well as work independently to ensure project completion. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with competing deadlines.
