Advertised Summary Job Description: Reporting to the Associate Director of HR & Faculty Affairs and the Assistant Vice Dean for Human Resources, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the day-to- day human resource, academic affairs and payroll functions of the Department of Emergency Medicine, including but not limited to recruitment, appointment, reappointment and on-boarding processes for staff and academic officers, payroll processing. The coordinator will liaise with internal and external constituents to resolve issues and to ensure timely processing of new-hire/appointment, reappointment, termination and other related transactions. The incumbent will be responsible for tracking and ensuring compliance with respect to I-9 processing, annual trainings, medical surveillance, visa status and other regulatory matters. Other related duties as assigned/required. Interested candidates should include a cover letter with salary requirements and two writing samples such as a email communication, letter or memo.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree in Human Resources or similar degree, or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: The candidate must have the following skills: Be able to demonstrate excellent organizational, analytical, critical thinking, interpersonal, superior verbal and written communication skills, be detail oriented, be able to make quick and precise decisions based on experience and knowledge, be strongly motivated and have strong interpersonal skills, have highly proficient Microsoft Office skills, be comfortable working with databases and computerized financial systems, be able to identify priorities within multiple assignments in a high-pressured, short-deadline environment, be able to work with diplomacy and efficiency in such an environment. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to work well with all levels of employees, be flexible in nature, have sound judgment with an open and collaborative style that encourages teamwork and cooperation beyond the immediate team to the broader organization. Must have a passion for excellent customer service and commitment to exceptional quality.
Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree is preferred. Experience using Peoplesoft, JAC, RAPS and Columbia Financial systems a plus.
